IBEROAMERICAN SHORT FILM FESTIVAL FROM SEGOVIA (SPAIN) AT UGA

AT THE STUDENT LEARNING CENTER ROOM 171 ON MARCH 31st, APRIL 1st, AND APRIL 2nd

FREE ENTRANCE

The goal of this festival is to show to the University and Athens communities a wide range of short films made and produced recently in Spain and Latin America . Short films are not usually available at movie theaters, much less those made in Spain and Latin America. Nevertheless, this format is the way new directors start their careers. This would be a great opportunity to find out what the new generations of film makers are doing in both areas of the Spanish speaking world.
The themes and topics presented in these short movies range from political and social issues to more existential problems. Comedy, tragedy, drama and other genres are also present. There is also a small selection of animation short films.

Films will be shown in Spanish with English subtittles.

These films were part of Contraplano 07, an International Short Film Festival held annually in Segovia, Spain.
José Luís Farias, director, producer, and organizer of that Festival, will come to Athens, so he will lead the discussions after the screenings.

Join us on April 1st at Little Kings (Downtonw Athens), from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm. There will be a screening of the short film "LImoncello," appetizers and live music.
