Romance Linguistics presentations at the Kentucky Foreign Languages Conference

The UGA Department of Romance Languages will have three graduate student presenters at the upcoming Kentucky Foreign Languages Conference in Lexington, KY April 20-22, 2017. 

  • Brian M. Gravely, Jr.: "U-lo u? A Diachronic View of the Grammaticalization of the Galician 'u'" 
  • Eva Morón Fernández: "'¿Te gusta conducir?': Estudio de la cortesía lingüística en el discurso publicitario" 
  • Leticia Rincón Herce: "'Solo sé que no sé nada’: el uso de atenuantes retóricos en el discurso legal" 

2015 PhD graduate Lamar Graham (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill) will also be presenting "The Transition of haber from Auxiliary to Modal in Old Spanish: Evidence from Cliticization Patterns"
