Karin
Morris, beloved staff member of the Department for 27 years,
retired at the end of February. Karin began with us as
a secretary in June, 1977 and retired as Business Manager.
Expressing a desire to spend more time with her family,
Karin left with the appreciation of hundreds of people

Barbara
Boggs joined the Department of Romance Languages in March
of 2004 as business manager. She comes to us after working
five years at UGA, one in Human Resources, and four in

of French, with a Distinguished Research Professorship.

Spring
Break 2004: The Spanish Language Community
For
the second year in a row, the students of the Spanish Language
Community in Mary Lyndon Hall traveled to the “Island
of Enchantment,” Puerto Rico. Only three of the members
of the group were returning students, the other seven were
there for the first time. The trip was the perfect opportunity
for these students to practice the skills learned in the
language community. They spoke to locals wherever they
went and had the chance to visit some of the most beautiful
