UGA Spain

The Franklin College of Arts & Sciences, in partnership with the Terry College of Business, sponsors three study abroad sites in Spain: Valencia, Cádiz, and Sevilla, with the common goal of preparing undergraduates for a wide range of twenty-first century careers.

In Valencia, we have a year-round program in which students take classes taught by research faculty at the University of Valencia. They live in a colegio mayor (residential college) housed in a historic building in the heart of the city’s historic center.

Our courses in Seville and Cadiz are held in conjunction with the Instituto San Fernando, one of Spain’s most innovative international education providers. Classes in those cities are held in recently renovated historic buildings equipped for multi-media teaching and study.

Students in Seville and Cadiz experience the legendary Andalucian warmth and hospitality, as they live with host families who are carefully screened by institute staff. Professors are drawn from the faculties of the University of Seville, the University of Pablo Olavide, and the University of Cadiz. Classroom learning in each site is enhanced by a weekly program of cultural and recreational activities that the on-site supervisors organize. For more information, please contact Dr. Elizabeth Wright (spain@uga.edu).
