CATHERINE M. JONES

Associate Professor of French and Provençal
Ph.D., University of Wisconsin, 1987

Dr. Catherine M. Jones has research interests in French medieval epic, romance, and allegory. She is the author of The Noble Merchant: Problems of Genre and Lineage in Hervis de Mes (North Carolina, 1993) and Philippe de Vigneulles and the Art of Prose Translation (Boydell & Brewer, 2008). Other publications include articles on the chanson de geste, René d'Anjou, Richars li biaus, nineteenth and twentieth century medievalism, and Orientalism. Dr. Jones is a Josiah Meigs Distinguished Teaching Professor.
