My name is Graham Johnson and I'm currently a second-year PhD Student in Hispanic Linguistics at UGA. I also serve as an Instructor of Record in the Spanish program (SPAN 1001/1110). My current research interests include: pragmatics and discourse analysis, discourse markers, speech acts, and pragmatic variation, as well as sociolinguistics, language attitudes, historical linguistics, and phonetics/phonology.
Education
In 2017 I received a B.A. in Spanish from Berry College in Rome, Georgia. I then completed my M.A. in Hispanic Linguistics at UGA in 2019, where I wrote my thesis over reformulation markers in Peninsular Spanish discourse.
