Who may apply

Prospective residents of the Language Communities must complete FREN or SPAN 2001 or its equivalent before joining the community. It is not necessary to be a French or Spanish major or minor to participate in the program. What is important is a strong interest in speaking the language and a sincere commitment to participate in the community activities.

How to apply

Click on the appropriate link and fill out an application online. You may also mail a print application (found in our brochure) to the faculty coordinator for your language by 5 p.m. on Reading Day of the Fall Semester.  Here are the forms: French Language Community Application or Spanish Language Community Application.

Applications will be reviewed after this date and finalists will be invited to an interview with the faculty coordinator. A final selection of applicants and alternates will be announced by Mid-January. We will accept late applications until all spaces are taken or April 1st.
