French major Mark Adams has been awarded a prestigious Boren Scholarship to study French in Senegal, through Boren’s African Flagship Languages Initiative.

Mark was also the winner of a research fellowship supported by a departmental grant from Villa Albertine and the French Embassy in Washington DC's French in Higher Education program. Mentored by Dr. Timothy Raser, he conducted research on the poetry of French author Michel Houellebecq, which he presented at the CURO Symposium in April.
