My name is Álvaro Ley Garrido and I'm currently a second-year PhD student in Hispanic Studies at UGA. I also serve as a Teaching Assistant in the Spanish Program (SPAN 1001/1110). My current field is Spanish Golden Age theatre, but I've been working in Nineteenth century Peninsular literature for the last years and my interests have guided me to work in Translation studies as well.
In 2019 I received a B.A. in Hispanic Studies from Universidad de Alcalá in Madrid, Spain. I then completed my M.A. in Hispanic Studies at Auburn University (Alabama), where I wrote my thesis over the translation process in the works of Valeria Luiselli.
