Congratulations to Jenna Robinson and Mary Virginia Hahn

Jenna Robinson (PhD student, Hispanic Linguistics) and Mary Virginia Hahn (MA student, Hispanic Linguistics) presented a poster on the second language acquisition of Spanish syntax and pragmatics at the Bilingualism in the Hispanic and Lusophone World (BHL) conference at Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL on Friday, January 27, 2017.

Recent publication by Dr. Gupton

Dr. Tim Gupton has published a book chapter entitled “Early minority language acquirers of Spanish exhibit focus-related interface asymmetries: Word order alternation and optionality in Spanish-Catalan, Spanish-Galician, and Spanish-English bilinguals” in an edited volume entitled Bilingualism and Minority Languages in Europe published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing.

Recent publications by Dr. Renwick

Dr. Peggy Renwick has been published in two articles recently: 

The first is "Phonetic Distinctiveness vs. Lexical Contrastiveness in Non-Robust Phonemic Contrasts," co-authored with D. R. Ladd and published in Laboratory Phonology in December 2016; it’s freely available.

Dr. Margaret Renwick awarded Willson Center Research Fellowship

Dr. Renwick has been awarded a Willson Center Research Fellowship for the 2017 - 2018 academic year, for her project titled "Mapping Spoken Language in Digital and Social Space: Evidence from Italian.” Congratulations!
