We will welcome Will Travers who is a Lecturer of Spanish at Emory University. He is currently completing his dissertation. Funded in part by a grant from the National Council of Less Commonly Taught Languages, his doctoral research centers around instructed third language (L3) acquisition and its facilitating factors, with a special focus on metalinguistic awareness.

Congratulations to Javier Cabezas Zapata on the successful defense of his doctoral dissertation. In his dissertation, titled “¿Se Puede Medir La Gramaticalización? The University of Georgia hosted its inaugural Active Learning Summit to celebrate how this method of learning is already changing instruction across campus and to explore ways to expand that culture in the future. Approximately 270 participants gathered at the Tate Student Center on Feb. 14 for the event.
